Remember when...

Before Barack Obama had time to finish his inauguration speech, his message of Change had already hit the interwebs. Gizmodo grabbed a shot of the new Whitehouse.gov under Obama and compared it to what the site looked like the day George W. Bush first took office.

Bush's Whitehouse.gov, 2001

It was such a simpler time. A time before we had to perform a security striptease to board a flight from DC to Ft. Lauderdale. A time before rainbow-colored warnings. Obam-huh?

Political affiliations aside, and I'm not really sure how this relates to advertising, but I just had post this. I have no idea what is going on here or why I now have to own one, because I voted for Nader. But I think we can all agree: Congratulations. Good luck. And now can we steer the Obama train back to Sanityville?

If you'd prefer the train kept rolling, you can check out more Art of Obama here.

And for other fine art featuring Noam Chomsky and Harrison Ford, click here.

Friday Ad Haiku: Image

Now that the Presidential debate is officially back on (McCain's decided to play for the Jets), my Friday night is set. After I put the new kid to bed, I'll toast democracy with bottles of adult beverages named after a great American patriot.

I'm not going to turn this into a political post. MTLB and WMJP do a much better job meshing politics and advertising on a regular basis.

I will, however, venture a guess as to who the winner will be: whoever sweats the least.

Ask Nixon. People listening to the 1960 debate on the radio said Nixon won. Those watching TV proclaimed Kennedy the winner.

It's about the image. The polish. The packaging.

Debating the state
of our economy in
a thong? Got my vote.
